@09rcolon Unfortunately death didnt care about the rest of us either and took away one of the greatest singers of our time.. her career was really exploding at the time and she deserved it contrary to many others..

Filmed exactly 10 years ago.this week in April 2001. It’s amazing how fast time passes. It aired in late April 2001.

@Carmaker1 Damn… It’s been that long already??? Alot has definitely changed within the last ten years. Not exactly good music wise, economy wise, job wise, and morally either. “Season of The Witch” like Donovan says, I guess.

  10. Carmaker1 Says:

@phesterjr I can’t even believe it. Fallin’ from Alicia Keys debuted as well. I can’t even listen to the radio today, compared to then. I think I stopped looking forward to new released about 5-6 years ago. A lot of stuff recorded in early 2005 changed this music scene by the time they were released in mid and late 2005. A lot of music had a jazzy/upbeat, soulful, and overall smooth feel in 2000-2001. Heavy overproduction wasn’t a problem in R&B as it is now. Sounds too much like pop now.

@Liofle “crept back in the bed”….

  12. phesterjr Says:

@Carmaker1 R&B records definitely don’t sound like R&B anymore except a few artists like Tank and occasionally Jamie Foxx. But after 2005, music started losing it’s artistic vision. Clear Channel radio stations went through a takeover stage by the major corporations and that’s when people started caring about pop records more and REAL music less. Hell, there was a point when you had NEO Soul but I don’t even hear that anymore. It’s like everything just shut down.

@NyFin3st11~You are so correct! I was thinking the same thing about Ciara! She really tries to be like her!

  14. NyFin3st11 Says:

Man R.I.P babygirl..you can’t tell me ciara doesnt try to sing like her? listen to this track and think about ciara singing

  15. juandanz77 Says:

@fickyfickyawshit the album was only five weeks old at the time of her passing

  16. Miss17Trish Says:

@fickyfickyawshit You’re right, when Aaliyah passed Beyonce was very successful, yet, that initial success came with Destiny’s Child. Aaliyah may not have had Grammys, but, her albums were either gold or platinum (check Wikipedia to verify). The quality of her videos was different so perhaps they shouldn’t be compared. Beyonce is a powerful artist she is the Queen of R&B whilst Aaliyah is just a Princess. Nevertheless, if Aaliyah was still alive she would be givin Beyonce a run for her money.

  17. Buzz0Killington Says:

Why doesn’t baby girl have her own Vevo channel?

  18. MuseForLifE Says:

Can’t believe it’ll be 10 years since she died this year. Miss you babygirl… R.I.P.

I was about between 15-19 when this came out! Just in high school 1999-2003! After 2004, that’s when music began to go downhill. When 2005 rolled in, good music only came “sporadically.” Remeber when Usher, Ludacris, Missy Elliot, Camron, Dipset, Clipse, et. al. Had the charts on LOCK. Damn, what happened?!

  21. Kelem04 Says:
