@MultiDragontooth My name is Amy Lee and I am on the credits for most of the songs for Evanescence that I wrote. Other pseudonyms were also used, such as Alexander Nevermind and Max Martin (Max was my nickname for Hutch and the name of his solo album Max Q and Martin for Ricky Martin who I wrote songs for). Other artists such as Linda Perry, Billy Steinberg, Brian Mays of Queen, covered for me since my grandfather was an Evangelist & would not approve of me being in the entertainment biz.

@Boddahism so how come you names not on any of the albums nice research you’ve done but if you such a big hit why is your youtube name a shitty name instead of BIGSHOT haha i doubt many people on here will believe a word you say stop trying to make some amazing artist work look like your own

@MultiDragontooth Yes, the lead singer who uses my name as her stage name and Ben Moody (Moody, Alabama a town near where I grew up in Trussville) certainly did not write the songs nor Rocky or Terry. Rocky comes from Tommy Lee of Motley Crue nicknaming me Bullwinkle (in The Crue’s the Dirt). Evanescence The Open Door album title came from a book by Helen Keller who also is from Alabama.

@MultiDragontooth I did not write the article & is not about the band, but uses the word. It is an article by Frank Rich of The New York Times & a review of the musical The Chorus Line Oct 1 ’83. The review came out on the day my grandmother, Clara, lost her battle with Leukemia which is why it is significant. Trent Reznor decided to say that his grandmother’s name was Clara after I wrote songs for him. The meaning of Evanescence inspired me to make up the song Disappear for INXS.

@MultiDragontooth “The only sad thing about a great night in the theater is its EVANESCENCE. When it’s over, it’s over. You can remember the performance forever, of course. But you can’t re-create that VIRGIN sensation – that almost numbing exhilaration – of witnessing something NEW and different and exciting in the theater FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME.” review of A Chorus Line by Frank Rich of The New York Times Oct 1, ’83 inspiration for naming Evanescence & writing Like A Virgin for Madonna

@Boddahism love how you’ve made the links

@MultiDragontooth I started writing songs for the band I would eventually name Evanescence after Joe Elliott of Def Leppard discovered me in May ’83. I started working with many artists after this, including becoming involved with the 23 y/o Michael Hutchence of INXS when I was 15. The lead singer of Evanescence was discovered, signed, and brought to audition for me before Kurt Cobain’s death in April of ’94.

@MultiDragontooth There was another song inspired by the article, New Sensation which I made up for INXS.
