I’ve lost respect for her because she sold out. This is what music should be, yet she changed her style so she could become “a famous popstar” since this wasn’t getting her to that goal (she even admitted that in her MTV interview special). It’s a shame that she has to wear crazy costumes to sell tickets instead of making music like this.

@vulcangrl13 “Sellouts change themselves, … to gain fame.” That’s true. However, have you consider Stefanie in this video is not her true self? Could she be conforming to the status quo here, with the normal dress and fashion? Could her real self be the one and only Lady Gaga who we see today? If you look past her hair color and dress code, this performance is the essence of Gaga today, she also does the slow piano thing in all her big hits, in all her live performances. Food for thought

@trumpetguy888 And btw, she is famous because of how amazing she is to her fans. Little Monsters love her because she’s probably the nicest famous person ever. Obviously, like you said, she supports great causes, making her even a more fabulous person than her talent may show.

It’s kinda funny knowing that 7 years after that video was taken she’d be the most followed person on twitter, have 5 Grammys, 11 VMAs, sell out a world-tour, sell 25 mil albums, and have over a billion views on YouTube. And for those of you thinking she sold out. Do research. She started doing pop because no one in the East Village was doing it. She found a niche in the mainstream by mixing pop with glam rock. She writes all her songs on piano first.

She wears the OUTFITS that she LIKES because she WANTS TO and loves FASHION. She is the same exact person she was back when this video was taken, and she is by no means sold out. @metalheadmcw I honestly don’t believe that her talent warrants her paycheck. I would MUCH rather give all that money to other artists out there. Hell, you probably know a bunch of YouTube musicians (excluding Bieber lol) that deserve the fame more than her. Don’t get me wrong though. I really think the things she advocates for are great (gay rights, individualism, ant-bully, etc), but I really don’t see how she is “that special” to deserve the amount of fame she has come to known.

DAMN a Whitney Houston/Aretha Franklin in this little Italian girl!!! She would have been the best singer in the world ever (an amazing soul singer too) if it wasn’t for the excessive drugs & smoking which badly deepened her voice!

I am a fan of her current music, but THIS is something I really wish to hear from now on. That was amazing! As much as I love Lady Gaga, I would love to see Stefani Germanotta instead.
